Songs with Michael Jackson

Paul McCartney thought that this song would look like Michael Jackson would like to record. So Paul McCartney mentions it to Michael Jackson at a party in Hollywood. Michael Jackson had stated in interviews with the music press in the 1970s that he was a fan of the Beatles and the chance to record a Paul McCartney original helped to inspire his next project. However, Paul McCartney ended up recording it himself with his band (Which is called "Wings") and it was issued in 1978 on the album, London Town.

Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson subsequently worked on "The Girl Is Mine" from the album, Thriller. They also worked on two tracks from Paul McCartney's album, "Pipes of Peace", which are Say Say Say and The Man.

In 1985, Michael Jackson acquired the ATV Music Publishing catalog (Which held the rights to nearly every Beatles song) uncontested by Paul McCartney.

According to Paul McCartney, they "drifted apart" after he talked to Michael Jackson about getting a "raise" and Michael Jackson didn't act on it.[2]
