"The Girl Is Mine" is a song by Michael Jackson released as the third track from Thriller. It was released as a single on October 18, 1982, serving as the lead single from the album. It features Paul McCartney on guest vocals.

Background[]

The track was written and recorded between April 14-16, 1982 at Westlake Studios, Los Angeles. It was the fourth and final collaboration between McCartney and Jackson.

2008 Remix[]

"The Girl is Mine 2008" is a remix of Michael Jackson's song "The Girl is Mine", released as the lead single and eleventh track on Thriller 25. The rework got made with will.i.am in 2007. The single features the previously unreleased solo 1982 demo of "The Girl is Mine" later used for the 2008 remix.[1]
